Our First Birthday Party

The kids had their first real birthday party at Motley's Tree Farm. There was a hay playground, a cow ride, and pig races for the kids to enjoy. And they had a blast! They were so blessed to have 20 of their friends with them!! We had so much fun!!
Before everyone got to the tree farm, the four of us and mimi played for a bit on the haystack playground:).
Poor Biggie is still a little shaky on his feet, he rolled down a hill and he fell a couple of times on this haystack, but he just stood right up like nothing ever happened! This photo makes me laugh!!
Mimi and Lilly took a walk through one of the tree fields.
Then our friends arrived!!
Bigs loves Anna Lee!!
All the kids LOVED the Cow train. Even some of the adults took a ride with the kids. Lilly rode all by herself, it made me a little sad to realize how quickly she is growing up!

Pinckney and I took a ride with the kids.

Another highlight of the day were the pig races! They had a sign up that said save a horse, race a pig! HA!
After all that fun we went to sat down for some cupcakes, drinks and animal crackers! Lilly now LOVES the song Happy Birthday to you, and when all the kids started singing for her she was so happy.
Before saying goodbye the kids played for a little while longer on the haystack.
Here is what the cupcakes looked like before they were gobbled up!
While loading up the car I thought this showed Biggies personality perfectly, he is dangling from Mimi with one arm and still not upset just hanging out! haha

Biggie turns 1!!

On December 7th John turned 1 years old. I don't have any idea where this year has gone! It is even harder to believe - and explain to people - that I have 2 - 1 year olds that are not twins! haha
We had a busy day on his birthday and Lilly was too excited to take her nap so she helped me make Biggie a tractor cake, decorate and make dinner for our guests. :)
When Bigs got up he played with a couple of his toys that were not wrapped, like the train and that tent and tube you can see in the photo. These kids LOVE tents!! Lilly helped him play with all of his new toys!
Soon Pa Paw, GG, Daddy and Cousin Eva came were at the house and ready to party. So we ate manacotti and then it was time for cake!
John Loved eating cake, it was so cute watching him put all of his hands into it. Lilly showed great restraint not diving into the cake as well. She just got as close to the birthday boy and his cake as she could!
So now all the milestones that Biggie has hit up to this day. He was walking at 10 months, he says "hi" "hi sissy" "dog" and will say "mooo" if you ask him what a cow says. :) He will eat almost anything but LOVES sweets the best. He loves to give kisses and is quite a mamas boy - no complaints here! He loves his sister more than anything and his favorite gift for his birthday was a set of handy manny tools that Lilly got haha. He loved it so much that we went out today and got him his own set. :) We are SO blessed!!
December 10 at 1:00 at Motleys tree farm the kids had their first birthday party. This was before they got dressed, I will try to get that post up in the next couple of days but there are so many good photos and it was so much fun it is hard to choose just a few. And we are now getting ready for Lilly's 2nd birthday then a trip to South Bend for Christmas. Come January I don't know we will know what to do with ourselves with how much fun we are having now!!

Ponytail?

For Lilly's dance recital next week she has to wear her hair in a ponytail, so for dance class I thought I would try one out to see if her hair would hold one. We hadn't even left the house before her ponytail turned into a side ponytail and half her hair fell as she danced around the living room. :)

Feast of St. Nick

The feast of St. Nicholas is tomorrow, but we asked his to come today since Pinckney doesn't work on Sunday and we all wanted to celebrate together. Usually St. Nick fills your shoes (stockings) with treats, he usually always brings us our Christmas pjs for that year. This year he didn't miss a beat! There were PJs, books, puzzles and TENTS! A piggy tent for Lilly and a dog tent for John.
HoHo the elf watched from the mirror, Lilly has been really good the past few days, it looks like she might make the nice list:).
The kids played in these tents all day long, at one point they were just running back and forth in and out of the tents. Lilly wanted everyone to come and lay down with her in her tent, and she wanted to color by herself for awhile so she kept telling biggie, "biggie go to the dog." And when he was having too much fun running around the pig tent she took her blanket and pillow and went to the dog. We also got the snow globe up today! We worked in the yard most of the afternoon trying to get the 10 bags of leaves picked up, then Pick set up the snow globe, it is officially Christmas! I will get some photos later to show how great it looks this year.

After lunch before nap time we all watched Beauty and the beast, Lilly watched from her piggy.

Now we are getting ready for Biggie to turn 1 on Tuesday. I am in SHOCK! I don't know where this year went.

Happy December!

There is so much going on this month my head is spinning! I can't believe that Bigs is going to be 1 next week and Lilly is going to be 2 in a couple of weeks!! They are having a little play date party at the Christmas Tree farm next week, and Lilly has her first dance recital on her birthday and then we are at Christmas. We are heading north for Christmas and we are getting pretty excited about the trip.
On December 1st the kids woke up and found a new friend here! An Elf from the North Pole! Lilly named him HoHo. So we are working on the difference between Naughty and Nice. Lillykeeps telling me that she is going to be happy and nice and not naughty. haha

December has turned the weather a little cold, so the kids bundled up before heading out for the day.
Every year Pinckney and I go to the tree farm and cut down our own tree, and every year we have to take most of the furniture out of the living room just to get the tree in! haha This year with everything being so crazy the kids and I took charge and got a fake tree and decorated the house.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving last week!! We had a great time and great food and Gran and Papa Ricks new house. The kids started the day in matching outfits and it didn't take long before Biggie needed a new outfit and before we left he needed another outfit! haha
As you can see Biggie is walking everywhere! He even started really dancing haha, last night we we were watching a christmas special on TV and both kids were dancing around the living room it was so cute!
Last time Pick was in Texas he picked up a couple of pair of cowboys boots for Biggie, here he is playing with one of the pairs. :)
Lilly and I sat for awhile reading books.
Pinckney and Biggie watched some football.
When the Jones Family got there, Lilly and Biggie were so excited to see their cousins! Bigs decided that Anna Lee needed a big kiss. He is such a love bug!! He loves to give kisses, he will put one hand on each side of your face and give you a big kiss:).
Everyone played the rest of the day and we had a great time!
