Christmas Decoration

This year with everything going on we decided not to put ornaments on the tree so we used some red and green mesh to decorate the tree and our wreath.

But in the yard...
Maw Maw shared her snow globe with us this and year and WE LOVE IT! Every yard should have an ornament this time of year!! haha

For me?

There has been a bit of change in the plans with John, and he is going to be here by Monday!! So we have been franticly getting everything wrapped and ready for birthdays and christmas. But Lilly really thinks the packages are for her to play with so I have had to hide some in my tub. On Tuesday Lilly and I were cleaning the house and she found packages boxed up for Dzia Dzia to take back to Birmingham!!
Dzia Dzia has taken these back to Birmingham and him and Mi Mi have since refilled the tub - we are not sure if the tub is Santa's sleigh or a bath tub? :)

She's Walking!!!

Lilly has been so strong on her feet for awhile that we knew it was just a matter of time before she was going to take some steps. This past week she has been taking a couple at a time all by herself, then one day I was sitting at the kitchen table and I turned around and she was walking across the kitchen!! She gets more confident everyday it is so fun to watch!

This is her favorite way to sit:).
If you can read her shirt now that she is getting stronger at working we figure it is time for her to go to work...the shirt says "will work for cookies" HA!

Jolly Ole Saint Nicholas...

Today Lilly and I headed over to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. We were meeting Gran, Aunt Sister, Eva, and Elijah so Lilly put on one of her Christmas Dresses and her sparkly red shoes:).
When we got there Santa and Mrs. Claus were just arriving, it was great to see them come in on their horse drawn carriage.
We had to stand in line for awhile before we got to meet the Claus' so Gran and Lilly took a seat.
Everything seemed to be going great until it was Lilly's turn to sit in Jolly ole Saint Nicholas's lap....
Eva and Elijah loved seeing Santa!
So we decided to say goodbye until Christmas Eve and we went to get our picture taken by the big tree.

2 Weeks and counting

We are ready for John to get here!

Melinda made an amazing sign for the his door to be used at the hospital and at home, we are just in love with it!! That is sweet pea with him:).
Lilly and I have packed my bag for the hospital and filled in his baby book so it is ready for him to stamp his little feet and hands in the hospital.
We also made party favors to celebrate his birth at the hospital!
Here are a few updated photos of his room (it is still a little bit messy but once he gets here not all of this will be in his room)

Thanksgiving 2009

Well I have to say that this year goes to the top of my favorite Thanksgivings. I don't know if it was because we got to use all of our pretty china and silver, or that Pinckney and I got to cook our first thanksgiving feast together or Lilly's turkey dress...whatever made it what it was it was a great day for all of us! It was Pick, Lilly, Pa Paw (picks dad) and myself and we had a really great day!

Here is Lilly's Turkey dress!

While Pinckney and I cooked Pa Paw read Lilly her favorite book - Purplicious.
While we waited for everything to come out of the oven, Pinckney and his dad decided to bring in the tree. Lilly was not so sure about having a tree in her house. :)
We decided to fry the turkey this year and it was SO GOOD! As you can see Lilly enjoyed a little bit of everything!
After dinner, Lilly put on some comfortable thanksgiving pjs and played before she took her turkey nap. :)

And when she took her nap, we enjoyed Pinckney's pumpkin pie and homemade whipping cream YUM!

O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

Pinckney and I started a tradition 4 years ago of going and cutting down our Christmas Tree from Motley's Tree Farm. The first year we got a tree so big that we had to take the furniture out of our living room!! So each year we try to scale back on the size haha and we have started getting a wreath to put up in the house as well. We also pick out an ornament each year from the store they now have on the property.

As you can see the trees go on forever!
We were so excited to bring Lilly here to see all of the animals, and swing on the horse swings and of course pick out a tree.

And checking out a ton of trees, pig races, goats, chickens and wreaths we picked out the perfect tree for this year and Pinckney cut it down.

Another successful day at the tree farm!

Dear Santa Claus,

I have a really hard time believing that Lilly will be 1 in less then a month! It really seems like we just brought her home from the hospital and to think in less then a month we will be bringing home another baby from the hospital. God has been very good to us this year!

Lilly and I started getting ready for Christmas today, she wore her Christmas t-shirt and we decorated Christmas cookies. She tested one of the candy canes to make sure they were ok to share.

We also wrote her first letter to Santa Claus. She sends her love to Mrs. Claus, the elves and of course all of the reindeer who she promises to leave at least a couple of buckeyes for. The first thing on her list was a baby brother, followed by Mickey Mouse toys and a few noisy toys.

This is going to be a very exciting month for us, so we will try to keep you posted along the way.
