Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas this year. On Christmas eve we got all dressed up and went to pap paw and gi gi's house for dinner. Lilly had a ball playing around the house and eating snacks, John decided he was worn out with excitement and slept the entire time we were there.

When we got home the babies went to sleep and waited to see if Santa would come and see them...

And he did! He actually might have gone a little overboard! haha but we had a blast opening the gifts and watching Lilly play with all her new toys and showing John how to play with them. With two babies I must say that we stayed very busy all day, before we knew it the day was gone.

Our favorite gift for Lilly this year was a Barbie 4 wheeler. Pinckney showed her one time how to press the button and she has been riding around the house all by herself since. It is the best!! Another favorite is her very own microphone! Lilly loves to sing and dance so this is perfect for her...she plays the piano on it and "sings" into the microphone.

Happy 1st Birthday Lilly!

December 18th was Lilly's 1st birthday. It is really hard to believe a whole year has gone by since she arrived in the world. And it is even harder to believe how much our world has changed in that year! We celebrated her birthday with family, cake, ice cream and presents. We had a great time and Lilly loved everything!

Lilly LOVES Mickey Mouse so I made her a Mickey Mouse cake and all the decorations were Mickey and his friends. Mi Mi made her cupcakes with Mickey and friends on them so Lilly could eat the cake all by herself.

John even got dressed up for the occasion. :) He had a great time at his first party.

And as for having her own cake to eat...I think she liked it! haha

Well what fun is it to have two kids under the age of 1 if you can't dress them the same. Let's be honest this is the first of MANY outfits that will match:).

Lilly loves her little brother, and is so sweet to him. Here are a few photos from today.

And Lilly's new favorite toy is to blow her daddy's duck call! She is good at it and it makes us all laugh every time!!

This one just makes me smile...he's so cute isn't he?! haha

Welcome to the World baby Boy!

Pinckney and I headed to the hospital at 5am on Monday December 7th. By 7am I was in full labor and at 12:46 John Pinckney Bethell IV was born. He was coming down face up instead of face down so things were a little crazy for awhile but he turned himself in the end and he finally arrived.

He weighed 7lbs 3ozs and is 21 inches long. He has a head FULL of hair, and he has the longest toes and fingers.

Lilly was so excited to see him! She kissed him and squealed with excitement. She is going to be a great big sister.

After the nurses gave John his bath they brought him back to us in a stocking! It was so cute!

After a long day we were all very tired! And around 5am with a room full of people checking me and the baby. And I had only slept a couple of hours Pinckney had the best quote to sum up how we were feeling..."how quickly you forget." haha We are still pretty exhausted but everyone here is great and we have a healthy baby boy so we are very happy!

We have a lot more photos I will continue to update and share with you. We are going home tomorrow so that will open the door for a TON of photos haha. We are very blessed!

St. Nick Came!!l

December 6th is the feast of day of St. Nicholas, as the story goes during the night he would come and fill the children's shoes with small presents while they sleep. He usually brings christmas pj's etc...and he brought all kinds of goodies to all of us this year!!

Including a snuggie for daddy!!

Christmas Decoration

This year with everything going on we decided not to put ornaments on the tree so we used some red and green mesh to decorate the tree and our wreath.

But in the yard...

Maw Maw shared her snow globe with us this and year and WE LOVE IT! Every yard should have an ornament this time of year!! haha

For me?

There has been a bit of change in the plans with John, and he is going to be here by Monday!! So we have been franticly getting everything wrapped and ready for birthdays and christmas. But Lilly really thinks the packages are for her to play with so I have had to hide some in my tub. On Tuesday Lilly and I were cleaning the house and she found packages boxed up for Dzia Dzia to take back to Birmingham!!

Dzia Dzia has taken these back to Birmingham and him and Mi Mi have since refilled the tub - we are not sure if the tub is Santa's sleigh or a bath tub? :)

She's Walking!!!

Lilly has been so strong on her feet for awhile that we knew it was just a matter of time before she was going to take some steps. This past week she has been taking a couple at a time all by herself, then one day I was sitting at the kitchen table and I turned around and she was walking across the kitchen!! She gets more confident everyday it is so fun to watch!
