Pumpkin Patch

Our trip to the pumpkin patch this year was for our friend Olivia's birthday party. There were lots of activites for the kids besides just picking pumpkins and they loved all of it!
They liked the corn maze...

There was a play pit full of corn so the played in it like a sandbox...

And of course we went through the patch to pick out pumpkins, John picked up several and traded them for others...

There was also a sunflower patch that all the kids ran through...
of course miss sassy britches came out in full force!
Bigs ran the entire time we were there!!

Halloween Birthday Parties

Hunting season has approached up once again! Which means our deer friends in our back yard will be around more and will need something to eat. So the kids and Pinckney made a couple of new deer feeders for the back yard. They got to use spray paint which they loved, but we learned VERY quickly that Bigs should not hold the can by himself because as soon as he got it he sprayed himself in the face. So daddy helped him spray his side haha.

We LOVE our neighborhood! There are lots of kids all around the same age and all of the parents are a lot of fun to be around. Two of the kids had birthday parties this month so the families have been together a lot this month and we have enjoyed all of it! Kemp had a halloween carnival at his house for his 5th birthday and Olivia had all the kids to the pumpkin patch for her 6th birthday! They parties were the same weekend so by Sunday night the kids were worn out!!

Too Many Questions!

The kids really like to watch the movie Shriek lately. And since it is finally not a princess movie for poor Bigs I thought it was a great idea. THOUGHT was the key word haha There is a part in the movie where Donkey turns into a horse, and he explains to the princess that "he drank magic potion and it made him sexy!" So Lilly walked into the living room yesterday and said "sexy" I said "Lilly we don't use that word." She then responded "oh is it just for horses?" I quickly answered "yep just for horses." WHO KNEW!!!!

Then she was playing with her barbie mermaid in the tub and asked what her humps were. I quickly said "her chest" she said "no these" I repeated "her chest" "no mom these" "yep Lilly it's her chest."
I am not totally lying right?! haha

And since I don't like to post without a photo, I thought I would post one of easier times...:)

Kids Update

I have been slacking a bit on keeping up with the blog lately because things have been crazy around here. But the kids are growing so fast and keep us on our toes everyday. I wanted to take a minute and write down all the funny things I didn't want to forget. They love play dough, painting coloring, Lilly could color all day! And for some reason they are both obsessed with socks.

Lilly
Lilly has become so independent, it almost breaks my heart, it happened so fast and without warning! Now when she goes into dance she asks me to wait because she wants to go by herself, then she walks down the hall and just waves and says "bye mom!" Dance does through her off a bit because she just wants to be on stage. She asks every week "today do I get to get on stage?!"
She is still dressing herself in wonderful outfits! But now she wants pictures of all of them, so she gets dressed then asks me to take her picture. Then she will say something like "don't I look fancy," or "I am so cute." One day all the kids were showing the teacher their boo boos on their legs and arms, Lilly walked up to her and said "I don't have any boo boos my legs are beautiful." She is a trip!
She still loves to sing! But now she sings Lean on me, or Your Song by Elton John. She still loves Baby Mine and You are my Sunshine.
The biggest change in Lilly is now she has an imaginary friend. Her name is Emory and I didn't realize she wasn't real until she started blaming her for Lilly getting into trouble. Emory teaches her dance moves, songs, and sometimes bad words. They play almost everyday and Lilly wants me to call Emory's mom to have a play date...so I guess she wants me to have an imaginary friends as well. :)

John
Mr. Bigs. His talking has really become clear. And now that we can understand him and he can express himself he never stops talking! haha He will ask a question and if you say no, or he doesn't like the answer you give him he says "ooohh but why," in an accent I can't even describe! It is pretty funny.
He loves flashlights! He likes to try to take Pinckney's, so one night I told him we would go to the store the next day and get him his very own. Well it is no secret we love target, when Bigs was first born one of the only places we could go was Target or Walmart because we needed a shopping cart and they were kid friendly. :) Anyways so the next morning was the day I said we would go get a new flash light. Now that he is in a big boy bed he can come into our room whenever he gets up, so that morning I woke up to Bigs in my ear whispering "tttaaaarrrgggeeettt (target) flassssshhhhh liiiiigggghhhhttt (flash light)" I laugh every time I think about it!
His favorite book is Guess How Much I Love You. He tells me every night and with arm motions "I love you this much, I love you as high as I can reach, I love you all the way to the moon and back. And that is far Mommy, very far."
He LOVES his sissy! I will hear him say "You leave my sissy alone" and if you tell him that he is too little he will stand on a chair and say "but look I'm bigger." But if you tell him to do something he doesn't want to do he says "but I'm little."

These two are the best of friends. They play all day together, they get excited to see each other and when they are with a group of kids, they would rather play together then with anyone else. We are very blessed that they are ours! In the beginning I couldn't imagine how it was going to work with kids this close in age, and now I see it is was all in our plan that is not in our control. I wouldn't have it any other way! And I don't think they would either.

Air show 2012

A few weeks ago we took the kids to the air show at the Little Rock Air force Base. We had a great time! We arrived at the base around 8:30 and didn't leave until 6:30, so it was a long day but well worth it! The weather was pretty cool in the morning so walking around seeing all the airplanes was a blast for all of us.

Starting around 9 they started the show, they had planes flying all day.
Pick was smart to buy tickets, esp since we were there all day. We were able to sit in a tent out of the sun and had chairs for the kids. It also helped because there was a fence so we could keep eyes on them  at all times!

When the kids started to get restless Lilly and I went and them blue snowcones. Which I think was their favorite part of the day! haha

For Pick and I our favorite part were the blue angels, they were amazing!!

But Bigs couldn't take it anymore, he passed smooth out and missed the entire blue angel show!
Like I said they were amazing!!!
