This year we planned to spend Christmas in South Bend at Maw Maw's house. We set out on Friday morning with plans to make it there Friday night. So we started...
Everything seemed great until Bigs started coughing like crazy and we had major car trouble. So we had to pull over and get a hotel and start again on Saturday. We made it through the night, Pick got everything fixed with the truck and got bigs some new meds so we finished the trip to south bend thinking the worst was behind us.
When we got to the hotel the kids went crazy! they LOVED being in the hotel, and we quickly realized Bigs had never seen a land line phone! he was in awe of it! I think he even slept with it! haha He kept saying "lets make a call to someone!"
We made it to maw maws and Amy and Chris and the girls came to spend Sunday with us which we loved! After everyone was in and playing we realized everyone has the same style...can you guess which ones are Lilly's?!!! YEP THE SPARKLE BOOTS haha of course haha.
Maw Maw had all the stocking ready and decorations were perfect.
This year Christmas Eve was at Uncle Pat's house. There were over 70 family members there and it was great to see everyone! the kids loved meeting new cousins and playing all night! Santa even stopped by to drop off gifts for all the kids!
This is Bigs and my cousin Chris's youngest son Griffin. At one point in the night Lilly and Griffin were talking and she told him she liked his tie he told her he liked her hair! haha That is Vivie in the back of the photo. She and bigs were fast friends. While all the adults were upstairs and most of the kids as well the two of them were in the basement. Bigs ran upstairs to get Lauren and tell her he needed help. Somehow Vivie was stuck on top of the pool table and they couldn't get her down! haha I think her mom and I got into the same trouble years ago haha.
Every year I try to get a photo of the kids sleeping on Christmas eve...
We headed home on Christmas after opening gift thinking that Pick had to work the next day. On the way how we saw the batmobile!

When we got to Arkansas there was an ice storm for the first time in 83 years(of course) our plan was to make it to the farm and spend the night. but the truck broke down and we stayed in a hotel instead. The next day we got up to find out there was no power at our house, but the Jones have a generator so we headed to their house. Thank god for that generator because it was cold! And everything was closed and the roads looked like a war zone!!
Saturday our plan was to head out to the farm because there was power there and stay until our house was restored. Which we were told it would be Tuesday or later! We went home to get some clothes and things together and when we were about to leave the power came back!! I don't think we have ever been so happy to be in our own house again! ahha the kids played with their new toys finally all night!!
